Goddess Bhadrakali Mata

Bhadrakali Temple is known as one of the oldest and ancient temple in India dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali. The temple of Bhadrakali is located in Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, India. The name of this temple was given after the goddess Bhadrakali.

It is said that the temple was built by Kakatiyas and situated on the hilltop close to bank of Bhadrakali Lake between Warangal and Hanamkonda. The deity of this temple is called as "Ammavaru" which means Mother Goddess. This temple is the only place where goddess Bhadrakali is presented in her several different forms and incarnation (Avtars).

It’s very remarkable thing that the image of the goddess is in the square shaped stone about 2.7 X 2.7 meters. The image of the goddess is much different than other images of goddess. The outlook of the image of the goddess is glorious with attractive eyes and face. Moreover the idol of the goddess can also be seen in the form of eight hands holding different weapons and with a crown on her head. On the opposite of the sanctum, the idol of the lion-a vehicle of Goddess Bhadrakali is placed.

Surrounding Bhadrakali Temple, there are 8 major and 12 minor temples in the mountains. This place has become the foremost visitor place and most of the people wish to visit this temple from all over India.
