Goddess Maa Chandraghanta - Third Mata

Maa Chandraghanta is third form of Goddess Durga, Referred to as Chandraghanta, represents bravery. The charming, bright Chandraghanta looks gorgeous. She has a half moon in her forehead in the shape of a bell. This is why she is called Chandraghanta. Chandra + Ghanta, meaning supreme bliss and knowledge, showering peace and serenity, like cool breeze in a moonlit night. With three eyes, she is color in golden. Ten types of armed and she carries pot, bow, arrow, lotus, discus, rosary, trident, mace and sword. This is a terrible aspect and is roaring in anger. The Maa Chandraghanta vehicle is the lion. She is always in a gesture as if prepared for fighting. Her roaring voice is like a tumultuous sound of a bell that always causes the atrocious Daitya and Raksasas all to tremble. This is worshipped in Kanchipuram. The unprecedented bravery of Chandraghanta is worshipped on the third day of Durga Puja.

Maa Chandraghanta is the blissful and full of knowledge, showering boons with humility and peace like the rays of the moon. She is very close to her devotees and controls over their anger and protects them from danger.
